The Hoh Rainforest is one of my favorite spots to camp in the fall. We hoped that September would be cool and rainy, but unfortunately it’s still been hot and dry. I had been planning to do a plein air painting of this scene, but it was 95 degrees when I stood here by the river and took the photo that inspired this painting. So I took a photo and hid in the shade, vowing to paint it later.
